Lothians Riding Club
was formed in 2002
We started as a relatively small club but we have grown over the years, but we still pride ourselves on being very well organised, friendly with an emphasis on having fun.
Geographically we cover the Lothians, mainly Midlothian and East Lothian and surrounding areas. We welcome new members and we cater for all standards of riding.
Throughout the year we hold various training days/nights for our members and we have a members camp weekend which is very popular.
We have around 3 Show Jumping Competitions Shows and 3 Dressage Competitions which are Open to Members and Non-Members. It’s at these competitions that our members gain points towards the Championship Series for both Show Jumping and Dressage, with trophies being presented to the highest place member at our Annual Presentation / Social / Disco Night and fabulous rosettes to 6th Place.
In addition our Partnership Trophy is awarded to the member, whom the Committee has shortlisted and who they feel have had the best partnership with their horse that year, which is not necessarily based on competition results alone. We also have end of year veteran trophy, young horse trophy and best turned out from the dressage competitions.
Our membership intake is open usually around Dec/Jan time, we run a membership waiting list throughout the year.
